There are also firmware issues with WD that pop up causing the drives response to slow to such a crawl that it seems completely dead unless you access it using special tools and methods.
Common issues with these drives having the heads get stuck to the platters, and the heads crashing and failing. There is a high chance the drive has 100% failed. I've just posted this over in r/techsupport, I hope that's not a problem.

MacBook Pro 2015 model, retina 15-inch, running macOS Mojave 10.14.5 I've got some important files on this hard drive that are not backed up anywhere else. Posting some screenshots of what my MacBook Pro is telling me about the drive along with some additional info. I think I've tried every "solution" online but to no avail.
So out of nowhere yesterday, my 4TB WD Elements SE external hard drive stopped working.
